This coffee table was made using solid American White Oak, and compliments a beautiful solid marble slab. The stone was supplied by the client and cut to shape, and the base built to suit the curves.
The base received Shou-sugi Ban treatment which is involves burning of the outer layers of wood. This was developed by the Japanese for water damage prevention.
